Accounting Manager - NetSuite Experience Required

Job Overview:

Reporting to the President, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including managing the accounting department and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, as an essential and key role in maintaining the financial health and well-being of the organization.  This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager, who is looking to contribute to the growth and success of a well-established and successful wholesale lighting business. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, budgeting and financial reporting; prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations; analyze and interpret financial data and trends, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance; develop and implement internal controls, policies and procedures, to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to accounting best practices; coordinate and manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate financial forecasts; manage cashflow, monitor banking activities and establish effective relationships with financial institutions; collaborate with external auditors and consultants during financial audits, ensuring the timely completion of necessary audits and filings; continuously improve accounting systems, processes and procedures, to enhance productivity, accuracy and efficiency; provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment; stay updated on industry standards, accounting regulations and changes in accounting practices, ensuring compliance and recommending necessary adjustments to accounting policies and procedures. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA designation, a plus; minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role; proficiency in NetSuite software, required;

Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting and analysis; strong technical skills in industry-related accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite of products; excellent knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial principles and practices; solid understanding of relevant laws, regulations and compliance requirements; astute organizational, time management, attention to detail, high level of accuracy and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; proven ability to manage a team and drive results.

Working Hours:

8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday – Friday

Compensation:

$120,000 - $155,000 DOE, for this full-time exempt position

80 hours of paid vacation during years 0 – 4, accruing at 6.667 per month; increasing incrementally thereafter;

Paid sick time accruing at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 80 hours.
