Accounts Payable Specialist - Winery

Opolo Wines, LP is an established family winery in Paso Robles, CA that produces and sells wines and distilled spirits.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for completion of all accounts payable and related general accounting tasks on a daily basis and in a timely manner, such as accurate record keeping, vendor management, vendor payments and reconciliations. In addition, data, creation, organizing the daily workflow, implementing improvements, together with regular reporting on tasks status or findings, is essential.
Job Type: Full Time non-exempt position.
Compensation: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour depending on experience.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable / Expenses
- Manage AP and posting expenses accurately and timely in QuickBooks.
- Ensure approved bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner, while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
- Update vendors’ master data to be accurate and complete.
- Manage posting and reporting of the credit card expenditures.
- Manage posting of compliance-related payments, such as out-of-state taxes.
- Participate in AP automation initiatives.
Month-End Close / Financial Controls
- Review P&L for consistent and accurate posting of vendor invoices, credit card charges and compliance payments.
- Document balance sheet reconciliations, with a focus on comparing financial statement records to external sources.
General
- Analyze workflow processes and assist with AP automation.
- Assist with processed documentation.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least 3-4 years of proven experience in a similar role; associate’s degree in accounting preferred.
- Astute analytical skills and ability to summarize or reconcile data.
- Advanced user of database and spreadsheet tools, such as MS Excel.
- Solid experience with QuickBooks.
- Experience with Ramp/Bill.com software automation, a plus.
- Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Astute time management, attention to detail, accuracy, organizational planning, effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, analytical, follow-through skills.
- Ability to work effectively alone and within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative team environment.

Working Hours:
This position typically works Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required based on business needs.
