The organization, which is governed by a Board of Directors, operates in a high-volume transactional environment managing multiple revenue streams, including lodging, retail operations and ancillary services.  

Job Summary: 

Reporting to the General Manager, the Controller, will oversee all accounting operations, ensure Securities and Exchange commission (SEC), state and federal compliance and manage all financial operations and reporting, including internal controls such as 10-K, 10-Q, SOX Section 404, financial closing processes and auditing. 

Duties / Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

Oversee SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and ensuring adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 internal controls.

Financial Reporting & Close: 

Lead monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close processes, including producing GAAP-compliant balance sheets and income statements, for reporting to appropriate agencies and Board of Directors. 

Internal Controls & Risk: 

Develop, implement and enforce internal control policies, to ensure accurate financial reporting and reduce fraud and errors. 

Leadership:

Manage accounting team; hire, train, mentor, discipline and ensure retention of accounting staff. 

Budgeting & Analysis: 

Monitor budgetary allotments for operational and capital expenditures, analyze variances and prepare related cash-flow forecasts. 

Audit Liaison:

Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews. 

Strategic Support:

Partner with external CPA firm to provide financial analysis, forecasting and data-driven insights, in support of executive decision-making; act as primary liaison for external auditors and oversee tax reporting. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or Master’s in Accountancy is highly preferred;

CPA license preferred;

8 – 10 years of progressive accounting experience within a public company;

Experience with GAAP SOX compliance;

Experience with SEC reporting, highly preferred;

Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite of products; experience with industry related accounting software such as Sage;

Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Astute time management, attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, planning, effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, follow-through, customer service skills and ability to work to tight deadlines;

Ability to work effectively alone and within a collaborative team environment. 

Compensation:

$145K - $185K DOE for this full-time exempt position.
