Automotive Retail Branch Manager

Multi-location automotive-related service, repair and parts facilities, along the CA Central Coast. 

Job Summary: 

The Automotive Retail Branch Manager will direct the Arroyo Grande retail store operations on a daily basis, drive sales, manage profitability, minimize losses, manage the staff and provide exceptional customer service and value for long-customer relationships.  

Duties / Responsibilities: 

General Duties:

Ensure store showroom, office, bathrooms and service bays are clean and presentable at all times;

Schedule routine maintenance for worksite equipment;

Ensure all worksite equipment is fully functional and operating effectively at all times;

Maintain tight controls on inventory; ensure losses are recorded and provide strict oversight to prevent theft;

Oversee stock levels, parts ordering, shipping/receiving; recommend ordering when levels decrease;

Organize and clean inventory warehouse and maintain it in an orderly manner;

Ensure all products taken out of the store are accompanied by an electronic work order;

Ensure adherence to company handbook, sales, service, company operational policies, safety regulations (OSHA procedures and processes and environmental standards;

Other duties as required. 

Customer Relations

Manage customer tire installations, repairs and services and ensure all are completed promptly and safely;

Communicate clearly to customers including estimated time of completion and any issues that may arise;

Provide exceptional customer service at all times. 

Staff Management:

Assist with hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, terminating and providing disciplinary actions for the staff within the branch;

Set work schedules for staff; ensure that adequate staff coverage is determined at all times to properly service the customers throughout the day;

Complete and submit in a timely manner, documentation for any injuries or accidents occurred onsite; lead investigation into the reasons for the accident/injury to determine if further coaching is necessary to avoid same action(s) going forward;

Clearly communicate expectations with the Technicians frequently and professionally;

Ensure Technician labor billing is accurate and completed within internal billing parameters;

Ensure Technicians complete work orders and vehicle maintenance inspection forms accurately;

Ensure that Technicians are properly trained on tire, wheel and any other equipment/machinery, before being allowed to perform those duties;

Provide continual oversight of the Technicians on duty and be ready to provide technical advice/oversight if necessary;

Ensure Technicians complete work orders and vehicle maintenance inspection forms accurately;

Continually ensure safety throughout the work areas and teach safe work habits and conditions to the Technicians and all staff;

Ensure staff are taking required breaks and lunch at appropriates times, in relation to CA and federal laws. 

Financial:

Ensure all customer billing invoices are complete and accurate;

Ensure receipts, transfers, or product returns are approved and signed by the Branch Manager

Prepare daily bank deposits and handle daily banking tasks. 

Qualifications:

High school diploma; Associate’s Degree in a business-related discipline, a plus;

At least 3 years of proven managerial experience within an automotive / tire retail environment;

Experience and clear understanding of gross and net profits;

Solid mathematical skills;

Spanish speaker, a plus;

Computer literate, experience with Point of Sale (POS) applications and ability to learn new software applications easily;

Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Demonstrated leadership, time management, attention to detail, organizational, planning, effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, follow-through and customer service skills;

Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Ability to lift 50 pounds in weight

Possess a valid CA driver’s license, with a clean and insurance driving record, with a copy of H6 driving record, required;

Ability to pass a drug test and pre-employment physical required. 

Compensation:

$72,000 base salary for this full-time, exempt position.

6 paid public holidays annually;

Paid vacation which begins accruing after 6 months of employment;

40 hours of standard CA annual paid sick time, which begins accruing on start date;

401(K) with annual company match; eligibility of which to enroll is on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment;

Working Hours:

8:00AM – 6:00PM, Monday – Friday, with the addition of a Saturday schedule, in due course.
