Bookkeeper - Property Management Company - Basic Spanish Needed

Job Summary:
Reporting to the owner, the Bookkeeper, with basic Spanish capabilities, will maintain accurate financial records, assume responsibility for managing the daily financial transactions, reconciling accounts and produce accurate financial reports to support our business operations.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers, including AP and the GL;
Process invoices and payments in a timely manner;
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately;
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets for approval of owner;
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding financial reporting;
Manage payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate employee compensation;
Prepare and pay payroll taxes;
Support the external auditors during the annual audit process;
Work with external CPA firm to gather and provide documentation, as needed;
Assist rental manager in preparing receipts for rental postings as needed;
Assist in answering phones, as needed;
Continuously seek to improve processes and increase efficiency in financial operations.
Qualifications:
3 – 5 years of accounting experience gained within a similar role;
Associate’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, preferred;
Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), together with accounting software to include QuickBooks and Yardi Breeze;
Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
Basic Spanish needed to communicate with our tenants;
Exemplary time management, organizational, problem-solving, attention to detail, multi-tasking, decision-making, critical thinking and customer service skills;
Ability to work effectively alone and within a team environment.
Compensation:
$26.00 - $32.00 per hour, DOE, for this full-time, non-exempt position.
Benefits:
80 hours of paid vacation annually on an accrual basis;
40 hours of standard CA paid sick time annually allotted in a lump sum at the beginning of the year; pro-rated if a later start date during the year;
Medical, dental vision insurance coverage for employee, which begins accruing on start date;
7 paid public holidays, plus birthday.

8:30AM – 5:00PM Monday – Friday
