Real Estate Loan Servicing Specialist - Credit Union

Job Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Chief Lending Officer, the Real Estate Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for processing and funding real estate loans, from application, through post-funding servicing. This includes preparing and drawing loan documents, coordinating funding on the core system, ensuring loan packages meet regulatory and internal standards, and providing communication and support to members, escrow companies, title agents, and internal departments.  The position also assists with post-funding loan servicing activities to ensure accurate loan setup, collateral perfection, regulatory compliance and HMDA reporting. 

Duties / Responsibilities:  

Prepare and generate loan disclosures and closing documents within required regulatory time frames; 

Draw and prepare loan documents in LaserPro (or similar document preparation system), in accordance with SCCCU’s policies and regulatory requirements; 

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the core system and loan origination software; 

Coordinate loan funding on SCCCU’s core system (XP2), including verification of funding conditions and wire disbursement authorization; 

Ensure all executed loan documents are complete, accurate and properly signed, prior to disbursement; 

Review and process post-funding items including final title policies, recorded documents and insurance confirmations;

Follow up with escrow, title and internal partners, to ensure timely receipt of all trailing documents; 

Monitor loan accounts, post-funding, for proper setup, payment accuracy and collateral tracking; 

Respond promptly to member and vendor inquiries regarding funding or documentation issues, post-funding; 

Collaborate closely with the real estate loan team, to ensure a smooth transition from closing to post-funding service; 

Ensure adherence to all applicable state and federal lending regulations including TRID, RESPA, ECOA and Fair Lending; 

Assist with internal and external audits, examiner reviews and quality control file requests; 

Maintain member and other sensitive information with confidentiality.

Complete all reports as assigned by supervisor and ensure that work is organized, deadlines complete and all processes and reports assigned;

Actively participate in training, departmental and SCCCU’s staff meetings and activities;

Complete all required annual regulatory and lending training as assigned;

Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or senior management;

Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications:  

2 – 3 years of similar or related experience within a financial institution; credit union experience preferred;

High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Banking, or similar discipline, preferred;

Bilingual Spanish / English, a plus;

Proficiency with the MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat;

Proficiency with  the 10-key calculator, standard office equipment and phones;

Ability to learn and thoroughly understand SCCCU’s products and services;

Attend and/or participate in ongoing compliance training and other job-related training;

Ability to work effectively alone and within a team environment, in a fast-paced, diverse environment and perform efficiently under pressure;

Exemplary time management, organizational, attention to detail, multi-tasking, problem-solving, research, analytical, customer service and  follow-through skills;

Exemplary oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Must be able to be fully bondable;

NMLS registration required and to maintain SAFE ACT registration.  

Working Hours:

8:30AM – 5:30PM Monday through Friday  

Compensation:

$27.77 - $41.66 per hour DOE, for this this full-time non-exempt position.
