Assistant Branch Manager - Credit Union

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager will assist in directing and administering the operations of the branch office; mastering all aspects of the operation of the branch; assisting members and staff with all transactions and requests and providing leadership to the member service team. This position manages the cash ordering process and ensures that the staff, ATM, branch, vault and negotiable items all balance. The Assistant Branch Manager is also responsible for ATM processing and ensures cash and supplies are organized and managed properly, while working closely with the Branch Manager on audits of cash, new accounts and daily activity and ensuring branch goals are met/exceeded, tracked, monitored and reported accordingly.
Responsibilities / Duties:
Deliver outstanding service to members, internal team and the community through representing SCCCU in a professional and friendly manner;
Assist in directing, developing, motivating, hiring and disciplining branch staff; assume responsibility for performance evaluations and staff recommendations under the Branch Manager;
Track, monitor and report performance service and sales goals; make recommendations for improvements and coach staff to improved sales;
Monitor branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller errors, new accounts activities and report on said transactions;
Maintain working knowledge SCCCU’s products, services, operations policies, procedures and regulations and recommend procedural updates, as needed;
Ensure coaching and training of member service team is scheduled and completed, with respect to security, job responsibilities, team dynamics, service and sales goals;
Complete all reporting, as assigned by the Branch Manager and ensure work is completed and organized by or before deadlines set;
Maintain an organizational system to clearly document all work assigned at a best practice level; ensure logs and spreadsheets are backed-up on PC network, always current and archived appropriately;
Actively participate in training, department and credit union staff meetings and activities;
Complete all required annual regulatory and lending training, as assigned;
Represent SCCCU at external events and various business development opportunities, as needed;
Resolve member concerns, account errors, or other issues and assist staff in resolving complex member account issues;
Assume responsibility for cash orders and ensure the branch, ATM, and staff work within assigned limits;
Must be bilingual English/Spanish in an effort to properly service SCCCU’s customers;
Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, including supervision of 6 or more employees;
Must possess knowledge of all products, services, policies and procedures offered by SCCCU, in addition to all laws and regulations affecting operations and staff including Bank Secrecy, OFAF and CIP/MIP standards/regulations;
Hold at least high school diploma; AA or higher degree preferred; or combination of experience and education;
Ability to manage, motivate, influence, train and ensure staff are meeting and exceeding performance goals;
Exemplary oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, in addition to astute attention to detail, organizational and time management skills;
Proficiency with 10-key calculator, keyboarding skills, Microsoft suite of products and the operation of various types of office equipment to include copy machine, fax and multi-line phone;
Holder of valid CA driver’s license and clean and insurable driving record;
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds in weight when assigned to the mobile branch;
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Compensation:
$27.77 - $41.66 (Grade 9) per hour, DOE, for this non-exempt, full-time position.

Working Hours:
8:30AM – 5:15PM Monday – Friday; 9:00AM – 2:00PM Saturday (at the Soquel branch only)
Location:
Soquel, CA - primary base; may be seconded to the Santa Cruz, Watsonville and/or mobile branches when necessary.
