Job Summary:   

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Accountant II will provide support to the accounting team.  

Essential Job Functions:  

Prepare client invoices, record them in company’s accounting system and send to clients;

Monitor and follow-up on A/R agings;

Process client payments and record them in company’s accounting system;

Receive vendor invoices and enter them in company’s accounting system;

Maintain and organize A/P and A/R records;

Validate A/P and A/R balances;

Preparation of month end and year end entries;

Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts;

Ensure accuracy of entries to ledger accounts;

Reconciliation and preparation of payroll tax returns;

Prepare and process daily ACH transactions;

Reconcile, prepare and process client retirement contributions;

Preparation of month end and year end client retirement audits;

Respond to client inquiries;

Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products, specifically to include Excel, Word, in addition to relevant accounting software packages;

Proficiency in operating office equipment to include PCs, copiers, fax machine and 10-key calculator;

Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.  

Qualifications:  

Associate's Degree in Accounting or related discipline, Bachelor's Degree preferred;

2-4 years' relevant accounting related experience;

Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Account Principles (GAAP);

Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data;

Proficient QuickBooks Online experience;

Proficiency in creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and automated accounting systems;

Astute attention to detail, ability to proofread work and present finished product error-free;

Efficient multi-tasker, ability to prioritize work-load and meet deadlines;

Proficient oral and written communication skills, including excellent grammar, spelling and proof-reading skills;

Ability to work with minimum supervision, after training period.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and possess excellent customer service capabilities.  

Working Hours:

8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday, with 2 10-minute breaks and 1 hour for lunch. 

Compensation:

$33.00 - $40.00 per hour DOE, for this full-time, non-exempt position.
