Solar Installation - PV Crew Lead

Job Summary:

The PV Crew Lead will act as support to the Foreperson, is 2nd in command and provides training, trouble-shooting and mentoring to a crew of 2 solar installers.  The PV Crew Lead will possess a number of years of experience within the solar installation industry, ideally hold a professional certification such as OSHA-10, OSHA-30 and/or NABCEP and have the ability to oversee special projects and short-duration job assignments.

Responsibilities:

Ensure each project meets or exceeds the client’s expectations;

Maintain a cohesive rapport with all team members and demonstrate strong leadership abilities;

Implement and monitor the project safety plan and ensure all subcontractors’ compliance thereof;

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with minimal follow-up;

Optimize profitability of the company through field planning and efficiency without jeopardizing the quality, safety, or timely completion of the project;

Review bills of materials and verifying correct materials are available to maintain fluid work flow;

Perform site “walks” and pre-construction evaluation before commence of project;

Coordinate deliveries, handling, storage and placement of materials on the jobsite;

Review and analyze cost report details;

Conduct “walk throughs” with the client and Project Manager after completion and monitor and resolve any outstanding issues;

Assume responsibility, together with the Project Manager, for project conformance with the agreement and contract documents which includes plans, specifications, clarifications, etc.;

Prepare and manage cloud based (G-Drive) project folder for all assigned jobs;

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Strong management, leadership, organizational, interpersonal, time management and communication skills;

Proven experience managing solar and/or electrical installation work sites, crew members, subcontractors and all relevant personnel;

Knowledge of AC / DC electrical systems and National Electric Code;

Ability to commission PV systems and trouble-shoot common problems such as ground faults, polarity;

Possess basic carpentry skills;

Possess proficient computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products;

Ability to work in all types of weather and difficult environments, with the ability to lift at least 75 pounds of weight, climb ladders and work at unusual heights;

Holder of valid California driver’s license and clean driving record;

Holder of license to drive a forklift, scissor and broom lifts, preferred;

OSHA-10 training or equivalent, preferred.

Compensation:

$24.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE; plus benefits
