Maintenance Specialist (Equipment) - Manufacturing Company

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Manufacturing Maintenance Specialist will install, inspect, repair, calibrate and maintain the company’s equipment and instrumentation used in the biological culture media manufacturing process.
Apply relevant principles of process and equipment trouble-shooting;
Service various pieces of equipment and apparatus’ including media reactors, autoclaves, controlled heating pad devices, direct labeling printers, bagging / labeling machinery, weighing and measuring devices, transport / conveying equipment, process plate filling lines and other related technical equipment;
Repair, calibrate and maintain equipment using hand-tools, power tools, measuring devices, while incorporating knowledge / practicality of manufacturers' manuals, troubleshooting techniques and preventive-maintenance schedules;
Safety-test manufacturing equipment to ensure staff safety from electrical, or mechanical hazards;
Consult with manufacturing, quality assurance and quality control staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely;
Demonstrate and explain correct operation of equipment to manufacturing personnel;
Modify, develop instruments / devices, in partnership with original equipment manufacturer (OEM), manufacturing, quality assurance and quality control staff;
Demonstrable understanding of assembly line, plate line, tube machine and miscellaneous operations, maintenance and repair at the component level;
Attend classes pertaining to the job designated by the Facilities Maintenance Manager, or by upper management;
Utilize FaciliWorks Asset Management and Work Order software-based system, per all appropriate standard operating procedures;
Participate in the company’s continuous improvement program (LEAN);
Communicate, consult and cooperate effectively with internal / external engineering, technical and manufacturing personnel;
Coordinate production equipment maintenance part stocking levels, equipment maintenance supplies, materials, activities, or processes;
Examine documents for completeness, accuracy and conformity to standards;
Examines products and finished work to verify conformity to specifications;
Maintain accurate records, reports, files and relay information to proper officials;
Uses computers to enter, access and retrieve data.
Experience with manufacturing machine operation / repair; will train on specific industry-related equipment;
2-year certification from college / technical school involving machinery operation and repair; or 3-4 year’s relevant work experience;
Proficiency in the use of a variety of hand tools, power tools and measuring devices;
Proficient in the use of computers and various types of software;
High school diploma, or GED certification;
Proficient oral / written communication and interpersonal skills;
Possess good time management, organizational and attention to detail skills.
$21.63 - $26.44 per hour DOE, for this full-time, non-exempt position;
Performance reviews every 6 months with salary increase potential based on merit;
