Mechanic - Heavy Equipment - Energy Company

The heavy equipment mechanic will have proven experience working with a variety of heavy machinery; have a thorough understanding of relevant tools; be able to trouble-shoot repair issues and be able to service all types of equipment effectively.
Ability to drive to the job site; inspect engines and equipment; trouble-shoot and carryout required repairs; possess a thorough understanding of relevant parts and operational capabilities and provide routine maintenance to the construction fleet;
Inspect trucks, cranes, bulldozers and other heavy equipment for proper performance;
Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment;
Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts effectively and in a timely manner;
Repair damaged equipment parts;
Clean, lubricate and conduct routine services on heavy-duty vehicles;
Clean and service machine attachments such as winches, blades and side booms;
Perform major repair work when necessary;
Consult with other mechanics on smaller jobs;
Report damaged, or faulty equipment to management;
Other responsibilities as required.
At minimum, high school diploma, or GED;
Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic;
Proven successful experience as a diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic;
Thorough understanding of computer testing technologies;
Ability to lift heavy machinery;
Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment;
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
Must possess a valid CA and Class A CDL, with a clean driving record;
Astute time management, attention to detail and ability to prioritize work-load capabilities.

7:00AM – 3:30PM Monday – Friday, with overtime on the weekends, as needed
