Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, the Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of routine maintenance and construction tasks, which includes operating trucks and other motorized equipment.
Responsibilities:
Accurately diagnose and solve problems with the most cost-effective, long-term solutions;
Complete projects in accordance with work order instructions and any applicable regulations;
Coordinate and monitor maintenance work being performed by outside contractors;
Complete maintenance service requests in a timely manner;
Identify maintenance issue/problem behind the service request quickly and accurately; recommend and implement most efficient solution;
Must be available to be called upon for urgent maintenance issues after regular working hours;
Drive light trucks and operate motorized equipment, which can include backhoe, forklift, mower and dump truck;
Build or repair on-site facilities such as overhead shelters, toilets, fences, retaining walls and barriers;
Perform building maintenance to include plastering, masonry work, wood, tile, linoleum floor installations, roofing and painting;
Install and repair electrical, plumbing systems and interior fixtures;
Perform landscaping maintenance to include, irrigation systems, application of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, etc. around buildings, airfields and along roadways;
Maintain building safety systems, while ensuring compliance with all company, local, city, state and federal guidelines;
Maintain accurate, detailed and timely maintenance records for all activities / projects;
Assist in keeping on-site facilities safe, clean and organized;
Develop and implement changes in maintenance procedures to proactively address recurring issues;
Assist with the implementation of process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
At least 1-2 years of experience in general construction; grounds, landscaping and facilities maintenance, or airfield maintenance;
Proficiency with the use of tools, materials and equipment used in the landscaping, grounds maintenance and construction trades;
Knowledge of carpentry, electrical repairs, painting, plumbing, cement work, plant care, gas-powered equipment and other related tools / equipment;
Any combination of education, training and related experience for this type of role;
Valid California driving license and clean driving record.
Compensation Range:
$16.68 per hour (34,704 annual) - $26.51 her hour ($55,140 annual), depending on experience, for this non-exempt position.
