Equipment Maintenance Engineer - Manufacturing Company

Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Engineer plans, coordinates and performs activities concerned with development, design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This position establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of manufacturing facility major systems and production equipment, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.   

Responsibilities / Duties: 

Perform and document preventive maintenance and repairs on plant support equipment and processing systems such as steam boiler / associated piping, pumping equipment, purified water manufacturing system / associated piping, compressed air supply system / associated piping, electrical motors, autoclaves, reactors, plate lines, conveyors, HVAC, air handling systems and various pieces of specialized equipment;

Perform maintenance of plant buildings and coordinating requirements for new designs, survey maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery; 

Maintain building and premises by performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other related maintenance activities;

Ability to read and interpret building plans, equipment schematics, construction design plans and related documents;

Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. 

Qualifications: 

2-year certification from college or technical school and 1 year of related experience; or 4 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;

Ability to utilize various pieces of equipment associated with the job, including electric and hand tools;

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;

Proficient oral and written communication skills, write routine reports and generate correspondence;

Proficiency in utilizing basic mathematical skills;

Ability to work outside, lift up to 50 pounds, move up to 150 pounds, climb ladders and stand for long periods of time;

Proficient organizational, time management and attention to detail skills;

Other responsibilities as required. 

Compensation: 

$25.00 - $29.00 per hour DOE, for this full-time, non-exempt position;

Performance reviews every 6 months with salary increase potential based on merit;
