Welding Engineer and/or Intern - Robotics Design & Manufacturing

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Welding Automation, the Welding Engineer and Welding Intern will perform weld testing, robotic software testing, welding robot assembly and testing, analysis and welding of customer application requests.   No 2 jobs are the same from day to day.  Our welding robots are evolving new capabilities weekly and complex and simple customer applications are continually being assessed.  If welding is your passion, you will be working on the leading edge of welding automation.  There is no glass ceiling at Productive Robotics and the more capabilities you have and acquire, the more room there is to grow. 

Responsibilities: 

Intern and full-time Welding Engineers will work on some of the following, depending on experience:

Collaborate with the welding team and software team to test the latest welding robot software;

Setup robot welding and teach our robots to weld customer samples;

Answer new customer questions regarding welding with our Blaze welding robots; train customers in the use of Blaze welding robots; 

Assist customers with technical support and troubleshoot welding issues;

Setup and test new welding robots;

Assist in assembling our high-end robotic welding cells;

Provide technical support/advice to sales department. 

Requirements: 

Interns: Current enrollment in welding program with intention to achieve B.Sc. Degree;

Full-Time: B.Sc. in Welding Technology degree, or 3-5 years’ work experience in welding. 

All Candidates:

At least 2 years’ welding experience;

Interest in robots;

Interest in learning, fast at absorbing knowledge and highly receptive to direction;

Hands-on mechanical experience;

Experience with Solidworks (CAD), a plus;

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues; Strong oral and written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams; Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation ability; Astute organizational, attention to detail, multi-tasking, prioritization of meeting project deadline skills and ability to function effectively within cross-functional teams; Ability to travel 20% locally and 20% overnight. 

Compensation:

Interns:  $22.00 - $26.00 per hour DOE

Full-time:  $28.00 - $32.00 per hour for this non-exempt position.

10 days of paid vacation annually on an accrual basis;

5 days of paid sick time annually on an accrual basis;

Health insurance stipend of $300 per month for employee and $450 per month for employee’s dependents;

Educational assistance for classes related to employee’s position. 

Working Hours:

8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday – Friday for full-time position

Interns can work part-time at least 20 hours a week, or full-time 4- hours a week.  Position can turn into a full-time role.

Idaho Falls, ID – Onsite position.
