Nurse Practitioner / Physician's Assistant

The Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with the physician in performing health assessments, medical histories and physical examinations, while assuming responsibility for preparing physician orders, requesting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, educating patients and seeing follow-up patients independently. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, be decisive, have excellent verbal, written and organizational skills and have the ability to work with different personalities and deal with stressful situations effectively.
Responsibilities / Duties:
Be an integral team member committed to the purpose of providing the best patient experience and exceptional health care within the scope of the supervising physicians’ practice; Assist in the care of the patients, performing history and physicals, evaluating clinic and hospital patients, rounding on patients in the hospital, performing procedures, assisting in surgery, dictating notes, history and physical exams, discharge summaries, ordering tests and formulation of treatment plans; Identify opportunities for and contribute to the improvement of quality, safety and cost, as well as patient satisfaction; Possess astute problem solving abilities, work independently, and assume responsibility for inpatient/outpatient interaction;
Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, proficient time management, organizational, multi-tasking and astute attention to detail abilities.
Must be certified and licensed in the state of Minnesota;
Completion of ACLS course preferred;
At least 3 - 5 years’ clinical and/or surgical experience and in addition, at least 3 years’ family practice, urgent care, orthopedic, or pain management experience required; consultant specific training will be provided;
Must have Basic Life Support and Drug Enforcement Administration certification;
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program; Master’s Degree required;
Valid Minnesota driver’s license and clean driving record.
$120K - $150K base salary, DOE, for this full-time exempt position
