Job Summary:

Reporting to the Project Executive and Sales Manager, the Project Manager who will drive the success of our projects through planning and active management.  The ideal candidate will contribute to the company’s growth and expansion, while helping us maintain our status as a premier pump, well contractor and innovative authority. The candidate will have production experience, as well as strong work plan development, progress oversight skills, with the ability to prepare and present progress updates to stakeholders on a regular basis, in an effort to ensure the innovation we seek is being achieved.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage the team, clients and projects, ensuring every aspect of the project is clearly defined and short-term goals are achieved;

Communicate often and provide updates on project progress, critical milestones and any project hindering events, both internally and externally;

Lead projects based on scope of work through deployment, identifying schedules, budget estimations, project implementation plans and risk mitigation;

Work from the contract to ensure compliance with scope, budget and milestones; negotiate potential change orders and communicate changes to the team;

Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule and defined budgets, in collaboration with various internal teams and support personnel;

Analyze project progress and adapt scope, timelines and costs, to ensure that the production and engineering teams adhere to project requirements;

Identify opportunities for creating new processes or improvements to current processes to maximize efficiency.

General Administration:

Determine project responsibilities and assign to support personnel;

Ensure proper cost coding and approve budgeted and unbudgeted invoices for payment;

Facilitate permits, contracts and approvals to ensure a smooth and successful project;

Facilitate performance reviews for support personnel;

Facilitate timely documentation of project close-out for execution and delivery of quarterly incentive programs;

Maintain backlog/WIP and keep it current;.

Prepare and participate in operations and business development meetings;

Actively engage in the improvement of SOPs/project procedures by applying Kaizen and 6 Sigma practices;

Build a strong customer relationship securing future work opportunities.

Job Scoping:

Establish, document and facilitate processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, identifying critical path flow and assessing and managing risk across multiple phases of the project;

Ensure resource availability, allocation and optimize logistics;

Develop and document a detailed project plan, track progress and communicate with the team to keep the production schedule updated and accurate;

Use appropriate management and verification techniques to ensure changes in project scope, schedule, and costs are properly tracked through to completed change orders.

Pre-Production Execution: 

Understand the critical nature of planning for the success of the project;

Develop a schedule based on project scope requirements;

Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution within projects;

Ensure third party/vendor qualifications (DIR #, Subcontractor Agreements and ins requirements);

Establish and maintain communication with leadership, teams, and customers;

Establish and maintain customer’s billing requirements;

Prepare for project engagement by reading all contracts, highlighting critical points for the team and ensuring compliance.

Production Execution:

Carry out strategic direction;

Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;

Report project outcomes and/or risks to management and customers; escalating issues as needed;

Establish and maintain comprehensive project documentation;

Maintain real-time communication with field personnel to ensure any changes to the original scope go through the proper channels.

Closing Process:

Work with executives and sales team t ensure the project is delivered to stakeholders' satisfaction;

Reconcile job performance, prepare final billing and track the Notice of Completion;

Partner with project team to conduct post-project evaluation and identify and capture successful/unsuccessful elements to ensure continuous improvement;

Facilitate all administrative tasks associated with project close-out are completed timely;

Seek customer satisfaction and feedback.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline associated with this position;

PMP / PRINCE ll certification, a plus;

At least 2 years of proven recent experience as a Project Manager in a similar role within the construction industry;

Proficient technical background, with understanding, or direct experience in the construction industry;

Proficient mathematical, budgeting and analytical skills;

Ability to read contracts and understand implications of risk and responsibilities;

Ability to identify potential risks and solve problems proactively throughout the project lifecycle;

Exceptional attention to detail, multi-tasking, organizational, time management and ability to adhere to strict timeline skills;

Experience coaching, educating production teams and ability to strengthen team members’ capabilities and skill sets;

Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and scheduling software to include Microsoft Project, Gantt Chart. 

Compensation:

$100,00 - $120,000 annual base salary DOE, for this full-time, exempt position;

Incentive compensation plan designed to align with company break even and profit goals.
