Job Summary:
Reporting to the owner, the BilingualEnglish-Spanish Bookkeeper will maintain accurate financial records, assumeresponsibility for managing the daily financial transactions, reconcilingaccounts and producing accurate financial reports to support our businessoperations.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Receipt of payments from tenants, lease holders and propertyowners; accurately post to GL;
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers, including AP,AR and the GL;Process invoices, expense reports and payments in a timely manner;Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately;Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including profit andloss statements and balance sheets for approval of owner;
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regardingfinancial reporting;Prepare and pay payroll taxes;
Manage payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate employeecompensation;Support the external auditors during the annual audit process;
Work with external CPA firm to gather and providingdocumentation, as needed;
Assist rental manager in preparing receipts for rental postings;
Assist in answering phones, as needed;Continuously seek to improve processes and increase efficiency in financialoperations.
Qualifications:
3 – 5 years of accounting experience gained within a similarrole;
Associate’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, preferred;Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), together withaccounting software to include QuickBooks and Yardi Breeze;
Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
Bilingual English – Spanish required;
Exemplary time management, organizational, problem-solving,attention to detail, multi-tasking, decision-making, critical thinking andcustomer service skills;
Ability to work effectively alone and within a teamenvironment.
Compensation:
$26.00 - $32.00 per hour, DOE, for this full-time, non-exemptposition.
Benefits:
40 hours of paid vacation annually during 1st year;increasing to 80 hours in 2nd year;
5 days of standard CA paid sick time annually allotted in a lumpsum at the beginning of the year; pro-rated if a later start date during theyear;
Medical, dental vision insurance coverage for employee, which begins accruing on startdate;
7 paid public holidays, plus birthday.
Working Hours:
8:30AM – 5:00PM Monday – Friday
9:00AM – 12:00 Noon every other Saturday
