Project Engineer - Water Well Pump Company

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will support the water  pump operations.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize a variety of tasks with little supervision, work independently and contribute effectively as a member of a larger team. The position requires technical pump, mechanical, and electrical experience; involves working in the office and on occasion, at the jobsite.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Assist Project Manager with the management of projects from conception through completion;

Closeout jobs after completion (analyzation and record keeping of completed job folder);

Assist Project Manager with project planning, to ensure efficient execution by field crews;

Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements and performance standards;

Assist with project schedule by following job specifications, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements;

Assist Project Manager with technical aspects of bidding and execution of the projects;

Create and  assist with bill of materials (BOM), procurement and maintaining BOM records current;

Create and assist with project folder;

Develop and maintain an inventory of parts to expedite project execution;

Responsible for vendor correspondence;

Ensure projects are completed according to project plans and specifications through communication with Project Manager and Field Superintendent;

Act as the primary technical point of contact for the Project Manager;

Create documentation and implement Standard Operate Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

Trade school graduate; Bachelor’s Degree preferred;

At least 5 years of relevant experience with pump systems, or equivalent combination of training and education;

Proficiency with industry-related digital technology and software applications, as required by the company;

Proficiency with the MS Office suite of products;

Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Astute time management, attention to detail, organizational and ability to work effectively alone, or in a team environment skills;

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Compensation:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE for this non-exempt, full-time position.
