Director of Operations - Biotechnology Company (Relocation Assistance)

Job Summary:

Reporting to the CEO and in an effort to help us continue growing, we are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join and lead a highly-skilled team. The ideal candidate will have senior management experience in a dynamic and similar environment as ours, with outstanding organizational, communication and leadership skills and an ability to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries. The Director of Operations will work closely with executives to strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success for the company. 

Duties / Responsibilities:

Oversee manufacturing, supply chain, inventory management, budgets and ensure a safe work environment;

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the manufacturing operations and coordinate manufacturing, purchasing, distribution and logistical operations initiatives;

Provide direct supervision, training and development to employees;

Collaborate with senior managers in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans;

Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration;

Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity;

Work with project managers in the development of financial and budgetary plans;

Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement, where necessary;

Develop, implement and monitor daily operational systems and processes, to provide visibility into the goals, progress and obstacles of key initiatives;

Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners and vendors in making decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals

Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks

Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs enterprise-wide and implement process improvements to maximize revenue and minimize costs;

Adhere to the company’s policies and standards and ensure laws and regulations are being followed and adhered to;

Work closely with HR to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive and productive environment. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science/ technical discipline;

At least 10 years of progressively increasing operations leadership experience, including at least 5 years of experience in a senior management role in a field related to our industry;

Clean room experience or familiarity, preferred;

Masterful organizational, communication and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success;

Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production and employee management;

Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity;

Ability to streamline / implement structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency, while supporting rapidly shifting business demands;

Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines; including state and local laws related to facilities management;

Experience in developing budgets and business plans, preferred;

Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes;

Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software to include the Microsoft Office suite of products and ERP software applications;

Astute oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Exceptional time management, organizational, attention to detail, multi-tasking, negotiation, problem-solving and follow-through skills. 

Working Hours:

7:00AM – 4:00PM Monday - Friday 

Compensation:

$140,000 - $170,000 annual base salary DOE, for this full-time, exempt position.
