Sales / Business Development Lead - Commercial Signage Company

Job Summary:
Reporting to the President, the Sales / Business Development Lead will provide leadership to the Sales/Estimating Department. In addition, this person will be responsible for sourcing, driving and closing new business through outside sales efforts, effective networking and following up on referrals, in an effort to identify potential new clients. Further duties will include conducting construction site surveys; managing existing clients and working directly with the construction team to include the Preconstruction Manager, Sales Account Representative, Estimators and the Sales Administrator, in developing and ensuring the company’s revenue generation strategy is effectively executed to meet and exceed performance targets and goals. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven, high achieving, innovative thinker and possess a proven track record in a similar role.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Outside Sales:
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through networking, referrals and cold calling;
Conduct in-person meetings and presentations with potential clients;
Build and maintain existing and new strong, long-term customer relationships;
Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services;
Negotiate sales contracts and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets;
Provide post-sale support and ensure customer satisfaction;
Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM system;
Conduct market research to identify potential clients and new opportunities;
Schedule and conduct site surveys to gather information for project estimates;
Prepare and deliver sales presentations to potential clients;
Attend industry events and trade shows to network and promote the company.
Operational Effectiveness:
Download drawings and specifications, as provided by clients and save to Dropbox;
Assist Estimator with sign take offs and estimating, as needed;
Communicate with clients to advise on bid progress and timing;
Distribute bids to clients and follow up on proposals as needed;
Gather photos and content from sales surveys and work to email or upload to Dropbox;
Research competitors’ marketing and present information gathered to Marketing Consultant;
Attend “Sales Huddle” and other meetings, as needed;
Assist in the maintenance of job files, as needed;
Research journals, the internet, press releases, news articles, etc. on prospective projects that could be pursued as possible projects for the company’s identified target markets;
Create marketing campaigns in collaboration with Marketing and Executive teams;
Establish and ensure monthly revenue goals are achieved, as outlined in projections;
Interface with specific clients identified by the Executive Team; create schedule of “touch points” where the Sales Manager is reaching out to specific clients and making appropriate connection (i.e. calls, emails, lunch, sharing marketing materials, etc.);
Interface with President, VP of Operations and Department staff to develop processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or related discipline, preferred;
3-5 years of proven sales / marketing managerial experience, preferably with a construction-related graphics focus;
Astute organizational, time management, attention to detail, high level of accuracy and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
Exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills;
Proficiency in the MS Office suite of products to include Teams, Dropbox and project management-related software.
Compensation:
$125,000 - $145,000 annual base salary range, DOE, for this full-time, exempt position;
2% commission on sales transactions, with no upward cap.

80 hours of annual paid vacation time during years 1 -3 on an accrual basis and rising incrementally thereafter;
40 hours of annual paid sick time allotted in a lump sum annually;
